Smith to the NBA

Wow... big surprise... didn't see this one coming... I can't believe it... Davis must be crushed.

Josh Smith made it official earlier today... he is going pro and will not be coming to IU.

Here is what Indiana coach Mike Davis had to say today regarding Smith's decision to turn pro:

"We support Josh and his family in this decision, and we wish him nothing but the best. Josh is a special talent with a long and successful future in front of him. I have enjoyed getting to know Josh and his family over the last few years, and even though he will not play at Indiana, he will always be a part of the IU Basketball Family."

Could someone please explain to me why Josh Smith will always be a part of the IU Basketball Family? Let's see here... he never once stepped foot on the IU campus... he didn't attend a class at IU... he didn't put on an Indiana jersey... now why would he be a part of the IU family?
