Election Coverage

Some observations from surfing different coverage of the election.

This was the best online source... and yes it is from across the pond.

BBC Coverage

MSNBC went through every state as their polls closed with the following type of reporting:

Utah
0% in
0 votes for Bush
0 votes for Kerry
MSNBC projects Utah to Bush

Iowa
0% in
0 Votes for Bush
0 Votes for Kerry
Too Close to call

For states that were not battleground states, they projected immediately with no votes, yet battleground states, they would not project. Whew... exciting news.

"It's kind of frustrating... the states we knew wouldn't be close weren't close, but those that we expected to be close were close. So we can't declare a winner." - Chris Matthews, Hardball

Dan Rather is a mental Genius. CBS went to commercial with Dan uttering this brilliant statement:

"This is important to note. At 9:43pm EST, we are no closer to naming a President than we were at 7:00pm when we came on the air. That is big!" - Dan Rather

ABC at 10:30 made the following statement:
"We are following 2 computer models right now. One is showing Bush taking the Presidency and the other is showing Kerry taking it. So we will keep crunching numbers here."

CNN
"The states that went to Gore in 2000 are going to Kerry. States that went to Bush in 2000 are going to Bush. I hate to quote Yogi Berra, but it really does feel like Deja Vu all over again." - Wolf Blitzer

What was with NBC's Window Washer contraptions pulling up a blue or red streamer? STUPID!

And it just continues...
"The theme of tonight is TCTC... Too close to call!" - Tom Brokaw
