Monday Night Football Opening

Did ABC get what they wanted? You bet they did.

If you missed it, MNF opened with a short skit with Terrell Owens of the Eagles and Nicollette Sheridan of the hit ABC show Desperate Housewives. At the end, Nicollette dropped her towel revealing her naked back. It was obvious that ABC was marketing their latest hit on the show they spend the most money on. Personally I saw nothing wrong with it.

Oh but the firestorm began on Tuesday morning. People were ticked over the sexual innuendo, the naked back, the Black male/White female relationship, the fact that it was at 6pm on the West Coast and anything else anyone could complain about. My main question is this... where is the outrage over the Twins in the Coors Light commericals, the 8 hour erections in the Levitra/Viagra/Cialis commercials? What about the Herbal Essence Orgasm commericals? Those commercials are more offensive than anything I've seen recently and they show them all day long.

Bottom line... ABC was looking for publicity for Desperate Housewives and they got it. PT Barnum would be proud!
