This team lives and dies with the 3 pointer and due to their impatientness with their 3s, will die often.
UCONN 74 - IU 69
In the first half and the first 5 minutes of the second half, the 3s were somewhat falling and UCONN was flying out to defend them leaving driving lanes to the basked for easy layups and offensive rebounding position for follow-up baskets when IU missed. At the same time, UCONN was also being impatient shooting 12 of their 14 3 point attempts in the first half.
When UCONN made their run in the second half, IU was chucking NBA 3s 10 seconds into the shot clock and UCONN didn't contest them. They focused on the rebounds and getting out and running. And running they did... every time IU missed on a quick shot, UCONN got easy baskets at the other end. And UCONN wasn't shooting 3s to get back in it. They were going inside and scoring on old fashioned 3 point plays.
This game showed the talent IU has on its team. IU's 15 point lead was not a fluke, they have the talent. However, without any coaching, they will continue to make it easy on the opponent with their impatience and their 30 3 pt shots per game. That is unacceptable offense anywhere!
