IU BBall - Ohio State

For 34 minutes, IU played a pretty solid basketball game. They milked the clock, went inside to DJ, hit some mid range jumpers and avoided chucking bad threes. In turn, OSU didn't get any easy buckets in transition and IU's defense held them in check.

Unfortunately at the 6 minute mark, with IU down 1, Marshall took a bad 3 that led to an easy OSU bucket at the other end. Next trip, Ratliff took an ill advised 3 giving the ball back to OSU who hit a 3 themselves. Then Vaden took a bad 3 and OSU scored another quick bucket. After an IU turnover and an OSU bucket, that 1 point lead became 10 in 4 possessions. That is what happens when a poorly coached team doesn't value each possession. Game Over!

The one thing IU didn't do, and I must guess it was part of the game plan, is that they did not drive to the hoop trying to draw fouls. In turn, IU only got to the line 3 times for the entire game.

OSU 57 - IU 44

Davis was strange on the post game radio interview. He was very short, stating the usual, guys played hard, missed open shots and that was it. Don didn't ask any questions and after they came back from the commercial break, Don commented that Davis was HOT and not at his team. Again he didn't want to get Davis in trouble with the B10 office. WHAT??? Officiating certainly didn't come into play in that game. Guess Davis isn't handling the pressure very well.
