Plain and simple... IU chose Davis and I choose to no longer donate to IU or retain my season tickets. The administration counted on me to hang in there and not lose my priority points. They counted wrong! My $600 donation will not be going to IU this year. The $700+ for season tickets and the $105 for parking will not be going to B'town next year. And the $20+ I spend at Nicks or Yogi's each game day will not be going into the B'town economy.
Now I just have to figure out what I am going to do with all that money... I'm going golfing.
I go back to a quote from Ronald Reagan:
“I Didn’t Leave The Democratic Party, The Democratic Party Left Me”
I am not leaving the IU Basketball Program, the IU Basketball program headed by Mike Davis has left me. Good Luck Greenspan and Herbert! With Davis at the helm, you will need it!

ummm you are going to need to update the 25, 26 wins to Dean Smith
actually it should say 26,27 wins to PAT SUMMITT !!!!
PAT SUMMITT is the all time wins leader and your RMK watch should reflect this.
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
26 WINS TO PAT SUMMITT
Good for you....it's the only thing (taking a financial hit) that they will understand down there because they don't understand IU basketball and it's importance to the fans!
It's to bad that more people don't do the same.
Congrats to Pat Summitt!!!
But I am counting down to the Mens D1 all time leading coach.
Apples vs. Oranges
And I do believe the administration is going to be surprised by the number of season ticket holders that dump their tickets. I am aware of 6 tickets that will not be renewed.
1. I absolutely agree with your principled approach to next year's basketball season. However, I hate to see Nick's suffer an economic downturn. New plan - use our parking permit to park on campus for free, then sit out in front of Assembly Hall with a protest sign. Then, go to Nick's and get tipsy. (Or, you can do that before the protest! ;) )
2. Question - why is Pat Summitt an "apples and oranges" comparison? I was actually going to suggest the same thing myself with your countdown. She's a D-1 basketball coach, after all. If we were talking about a separate sport or a separate division, I'd understand. But we're only talking separate gender. Just a thought... (After all, it's your blog, and we're just livin' in it!!)
