Boy did I pick the wrong time to go to Florida... or maybe it was just the right time with what transpired over the last few days... but that will be another post.
I knew weather would eventually catch up with us and sure enough, we landed Thursday at 11am in the middle of a monsoon. What sucked was that it was St. Patrick's day and we were scheduled to see the Red Sox vs. Marlins and Reds vs Twins. After spending 3 hours in a Ruby Tuesday's watching College BBall, we headed over to City of Palms Park to find out that they simply postponed the game to Friday. Once we found out that the Twins did the same thing, it was an easy decision to eat the tickets we had for the Astros/Tigers and Braves/Indians. We were headed back to Ft. Myers on Friday instead of Orlando.
Friday was a beautiful day for baseball, green uniforms, green hats and green bases.
Saturday was beach in the morning and Reds/Twins in the afternoon.
Sunday was Red Sox/Pirates, with a late afternoon trip to the beach.
And Monday was a 3 hour drive from Siesta Key to Orlando with 2 of those hours sitting in construction traffic on I4. The Braves and Cardinals put on a good show before having to fly back to Indy and the cold that is lingering on and on.
Now I really can't wait for opening day!
