What a great day for Indiana!

DST Officially passes the house 51-46 and Mitch our Saviour has saved Indiana from the Economic Development dark ages. I can hear the companies lining up to relocate to Indiana already. Mitch, better answer your phone... I think Bill Gates is calling wanting to move the Microsoft Campus to Indiana. Or else he is calling to complain about having to reprogram all his operating systems.

Perhaps if you had ever had contact with people OUTSIDE of the state you would understand what is going on.

No one outside of the state ever knows what time it is in this state (hell i learned that while living next to someone from NJ and CA while living in Willkie*).

And while i've never had issues with the time, UNTIL i started working for this law firm in Chicago - then i realized what a Pain it is. People would ask me and i'd have to check before i could tell them what time it is in Indy.

If we were living in a time before trains there would be no problems. But, that time was more then 100 years ago.

Yeah I live in a cave and have never had any contact with anyone OUTSIDE Indiana...

I've worked for 10+ years for a London based company with offices in NJ, MA, IL, MN, CA, and IN... and I'm on calls with all of those states daily... I can tell you it is a NON-Issue in the business world.

Having also worked for 4 years for the Indiana Economic Development Council, where we surveyed Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky businesses annually on issues important to them. I can assure you DST never came up.

Tax Incentives
Worker Training Grants
Technology Grants
Qualified/Educated Employee Pool
Location
Transportation Infrastructure
Regulatory Environment
International Trade Assistance

Those are the key issues to Businesses, both large and small.

Show me how turning clocks back or forward once a year is more important than the above?

But what do I know??? I live in a cave.
