What a great Game 7 win over Boston!!!
I take back everything I said about Rick Carlisle after the game 6 loss. Game 7 was a brilliant coaching job.
As expected, Boston went with their shorter and quicker unit. To counter that, Carlisle went with Jeff Foster for the most minutes instead of Dale Davis. Boy did it pay off. Foster played like a man possessed. He had 9 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 blocked shots. But most of all, the Pacers played unselfeshly and went to the Foster mismatch time and again. While he only ended up with 1 assist, he made many passes that then ended up as an assist for someone else. It was a great exhibition of team basketball.
This is killing me to say... but I enjoyed watching the Pacers play team basketball tonight more than any IU game last year. I never thought I would enjoy an NBA game more than a college game. Thanks Mike!!! I will point to a simple stat that I brought up time and time again with IU... The Pacers had 23 assists to 12 turnovers. On the flip side, Boston looked a whole lot like IU... 14 assists to 14 turnovers. Ball game!!!!!
I don't know if the NBA wanted it or not... but they got it... A Pacers vs. Pistons Playoff series.
Go Pacers... beat the Pistons!

Oh. You know they wanted this match up. Does anyone really want to watch Miami kill the wizards?
