As many of you know, I am a self proclaimed basketball snob. I enjoy fundamental basketball played with a specific game plan in mind and I abhor pure athleticism and one-on-one basketball that dominates the NBA, IU Basketball and AAU ball.
So with that in mind I set off this season looking for teams that play basketball the way the game was meant to be played... team oriented basketball.
With ESPN beginning coverage with the Pre-season NIT, Maui Invitational and the 2K Sports Classic, and my ESPN Full Court Package beginning on Saturday, I will be on the lookout for teams that are fun to watch and will be sure to share my thoughts here.
I will definitely keep an eye out for Boston Terrier games out of the America East. They play a high spread motion offense looking for backdoor layups off screens and inside out passes for open 3 point shots. They showed good discipline against a very aggressive Duke defense and were fun to watch. Their gameplan got them an early 6-0 lead and had them tied at 24-24 until Duke closed out the half with a 16-2 run for a 40-26 lead.
And Duke is the real deal. Loads of talent paired up with a coach that knows how to get the most out of that talent. Duke will be fun to watch as they will make a run for a #1 seed. Josh McRoberts out of Carmel, Indiana made his debut scoring the first 4 points for Duke and could be a key component as this teams makes a run for a National Championship.

Testing the comment feature. I've had a couple of folks mention that the Blogger comment tool isn't working.
If this works, keep trying folks.
Wow - it must have taken a lot for you to say something complementary about Duke. We must suck a lot worse than I thought.
I'll take the Duke praise from you, but if Dickie V gets on his soapbox (God love him), I'm still going to cringe.
PS I wonder if people aren't typing in the word verification on the comments?
