IU at Western Illinois

This was a team that had IU beat at Bloomington last year until they choked it away in the final seconds. Now a trip to Macomb Illinois... to a gym that is smaller than my High School.

This year was different, as it should have been. IU ran off to an early lead and had a 53-32 lead at the half. Vaden had a great first half with 13 pts and 6 assists. And a great overall game with 22 pts, 8 assists, 5 steals and 2 turnovers in 32 minutes of playing time. The Leathernecks (Hey Myles, do you have a problem with that nickname?) were an incredibly undisciplined team and continued to turn the ball over, take bad shot after bad shot and play matador defense. IU as any decent team should do, took full advantage of this sloppy play. I still don't understand why Davis plays his starters deep into a 3rd straight blow-out instead of getting his young guys some good playing time... that's not going to help develop the young guys. Oh well, unfortunately, the first 3 games were not good tune ups for Duke. Wednesday will be interesting...

Oh and Valpo and IUPUI should each have 2 easy wins this year in the Mid-Con.
