IU - Nicholls State

So IU moves to (1-0) overall with a 99-65 win.

Boxscore

My only question is why were 4 starters still in the game with 2 minutes left? Killer, Strick, Kline and Monroe were all in at the end of a blowout? Interesting decision. Trying to get another injury? Trying to pad Killer and Strick's stats? Trying to pour it on to get to 100 pts?

I would have thought a game at home against a seriously undermanned team predicted to finish last in their conference would have been a good game to get some experience for the new guys. Oh well at least Ahlfeld and Taber got 54 seconds of action.

So I guess with Joey Shaw and Cem Dinc not playing tonight would lead towards them being redshirted? But I thought Cem Dinc was a one and done player off to the NBA? At least that is what the 'Lovers' told us when he signed with IU.

And the bottom line, Greenspan's decision to keep Davis saved me $87.45 tonight. So far this season, my savings from giving up my tickets and not contributing a dime totals $974.15. Thanks Rick!

Grumblah Greg sez:

I'm just glad that Mr Kravitz knows his George Orwell.

Once again lets step back in time to "1984".

War is Peace.
Freedom is Slavery.
Ignorance is Strength.

and according to Kravitz
the the Perpetrator is the Victim.

In reading the article one would think that Mike Davis is a victim of the Hoosiers poor performance. Mike Davis has been afflicted with a bad basketball team, to Kravitz it is not the case that the team's performance has been damaged by his coaching.

Poor Mike, he was just minding his own business when along came this college basketball team to impose its ill will upon him. Life is like a piece of stale bread, it's tough all over.

Such is life in 21st century America where the last thing anyone wants to do is take responsibilty for their own actions.

Of course to criticize Davis is to hurt "the kids" just as anyone who questions US foreign policy is against "the troops". Funny, I never hear anyone complain about our soldiers or IU players but our leaders will quickly translate any criticism of management into an ad hominem attack against the people on the front lines.

Just remember the words of Vladmir Lenin, the man who was "Big Brother" before Orwell had created him. He used to say "Worse is Better." Meaning that as long as the common folk were suffering more and more it would be easier for the Bolsheviks to seize power in Russia and bring the revolution. I'm not a Communist nor do I espouse any of Lenin's philosphies but he did have a point when it comes to bringing about change.

So for the IU fans suffering under the reign of Czar Mikhail Davis I offer this:

Worse is better.
Worse is always better.
