Davis feels good about IU - courier-journal.com
When asked how he felt about being one game shy of matching his best start at IU, Davis replied: "I'll let you know (tonight). I just feel good about the team. No matter if we win or lose, if you feel good about your team, that's a bright spot."So in the first 5 years of Mike, the man was all about setting specific win total goals. How many times did we hear "We just want to be 8-4 going into the B10 season"? Now it doesn't matter whether you win or lose, it's a bright spot if you feel good? Strange change in beliefs but again, I'm not criticizing, I'm just trying to understand the man.
"It's going to be an exciting game because it's an in-state game -- one I don't want to play for that very reason," Davis said. "This is a dangerous game."Has Mike and the IU coaching staff watched any film of Ball State? This may be the worst Ball State team in 30 years. They lost their ONLY player in Stovall for the season to a knee injury. Ball State wouldn't win a game in the B10. If this is a dangerous game, then what will the B10 road games be?
"The Indiana State performance was a selfish performance," he said. "It was not passing the ball out of double teams. It was shooting contested shots. It was a swagger without putting the effort in on defense.
"We won't have that problem. Are we going to win every game? No, we're not going to win every game. But the thing we have to do is play our style."I agree with Mike's assessment of the ISU game and that they won't win every game. That hasn't happened since a Coach Knight led IU team went 32-0. But what is "our style" Is it up tempo shoot or pass within 2 seconds of touching the ball? Is it 1 big man inside, 4 guards outside? Is it 2 big men inside and 3 guards outside watching? Is it different everygame as Davis matches down to the opponent?
Seriously... for those of you calling me an idiot and a psycho... back up your words with some basketball intelligence and explain to me what Davis means by "our style." Cause I have watched every game in the past 6 years and I couldn't tell you what "our style" is. Please inform me. I'll take silence as meaning that you too don't have a clue as to what Davis is trying to do.

Worst BSU team in 30 years may be a little strong... You obviously missed out on the Jim Holstein and Al Brown eras!!! ;)
Actually I think the BSU team may be OK as they enter conference play, but it will depend on developing another outside shooter or two. They actually have some decent talent on the floor (nothing like the Hoosiers, but...). Mills is a very good player, Bass has looked pretty good, and a few others give quality minutes.
Congrats on the win and good luck against Michigan tonite...
