For the first time since IU started playing Kentucky in the Dome every other year, I was not in attendence. The big screen TV worked mighty fine.
IU 35 UK 19 at the Half
Did I mention that IU only scored 2 pts in the first 8 minutes of the 2nd half. It looked like the old stand around and shoot 3s offense was back. Davis must have made some halftime adjustments. Fortunately IU's defense was the difference. They shut down a Kentucky team that is a shadow of itself from the last 10 years. A bad shadow at that. Man is it nice to kick the crap out of the Mildcats!
The sad thing was that CBS regional switched away from the IU-UK game in all regions except Indy and Lexington at the 8 minute mark with IU up 20. IU fans waiting for years to beat UK weren't able to enjoy the win. CBS Regional coverage sucks!!!!!!!
IU 79 UK 53 Final
The UK fans must know that this is going to be a rough season as they didn't travel well this year. The upper deck on the UK end wasn't even 1/4 full. And lots of red in the Blue section. Smallest UK crowd I've ever seen. Even Ashley Judd didn't make it to Indy this year.
Now how long until Mike asks for a contract extension? He finally beat Kentucky!

Kentucky Sucks! IU Rules!
Mike I absolutely agree. I loved the way Ben was being physical with Alleyne and forcing him out 10 ft from the basket. Something I haven't seen IU post men do since Davis has been there.
Maybe that is the problem. Davis would prefer that Ben play behind the opponents big men like Marco has been doing and giving them inside position. Maybe Davis is punishing Ben for not playing the way he wants him to play.
No matter what, it really is a great feeling to beat Kentucky knowing that those Blue fans are really upset right now ;-)
Too bad it means IU is stuck with Davis for the next 8 years and this 1 win will be traded for another 5 straight losses to UK .
