Thank you Peegsters!

Here I thought Marco's comments were self-centered, arrogant and could ultimately drive a stake between he and his teammates. I was so wrong. The "true IU fans" at peegs.com have helped me understand that I just don't know anything about team basketball. Below are some of their thoughts on Marco's comment:

"I love it this way. There ain't no question I'm going to touch it," Killingsworth said. "Guys don't have to like (me) here - (I'm) going to touch the ball or the coach is going to sit the other guys down."

maybe you're just used to the psychological warfare Bob waged on his players...it was effective when he had horses who coud run...it sucked when the talent started leaving...

There is a very good chance that those remarks were taken out of context. We all know that he was not happy at Auburn and that statement was probably made in reference to his frustrations while there. There is no chemistry problems on this team that anybody knows of right now, and from what I can tell all of these guys get along and love playing together.

I think the guy is just happy to be the focus of the offense. He knows he can be effective here and probably knew it at Auburn. He's just getting the chance to prove it here.

Hard to argue with the results. Is he full of himself right now? Yeah but I'm not going to make a federal case out of a couple of comments that may very well indeed have been taken out of context.

Lets stop micro analyzing every quote from coaches and now players for PCBS (Polictically Correct Basketball Speak). Here is the way I read his quote. "At my previous college too much was based on personalities to the point if someone didn't like you they just didn't give you the ball. Now if someone doesn't conform to the game plan they are sat down."

I don't think there's anything wrong with Marco's quotes. He sounds like a guy who wants the ball. He's a post player -- he should be getting the ball. He is, also, unfazed by the pressure and expectations at IU. He wants to win -- that's why he came to IU.
