Nice to see Davis is still Delusional

Davis is at it again... some of his better quotes:

“It was time for it to happen. I think it’s been a good thing,’’ Davis said. “The only bad thing was that we were playing at Illinois, where it’s hard for everybody to win. Illinois could have easily been a 30-point game, but I thought our guys worked and played hard. Now, it’s time to get things going our way.’’

Yeah... now it's time to get things going. A bit late if you ask me.

“If a coach tells you he doesn’t notice or wasn’t paying attention, he’s lying,’’ Davis said. “But it’s done, and I’ve made my decision on what is best for Indiana. Hopefully, people appreciate some of the things I’ve done, but the most important thing is the boys. I hope they appreciate their work.’’

I have no idea what he is trying to say in that first sentence. In the last... yes we do appreciate the effort the guys have put forth. Unfortunately their body of work is only as good as the direction from the coach... and that has been pathetic. But not their fault.

Really now??? That is some brilliant insight.

"I thought we took a step in the right direction,'' Davis said. "It may not seem that way, but I thought we took a step. I saw some guys fighting harder than what they normally fight, and I saw some guys miss some shots that they normally make."

Huh??? Call me crazy... but I watched that game and for the 5th straight time, IU lost. Maybe that is why you are on your way out Mike.

A loss at Illinois in which the team was never in the game is pretty good? I guess it is if you call 13-10 good. But then again isn't this the most talented team in Davis' career?

"We're going to have to (use more zone) because our man-to-man is not very good,'' Davis said. "We don't have a shot blocker, and when you don't have a shot blocker, it's a must that you play great position basketball. And we're not doing a good job of that.''

Hey Mike, your zone was bad. I'm really excited at the thought of seeing more of it. Great.

“I think what we have ahead of us is special,” he said. “I really do. The key is to shoot well.”

What??? It is such a simple game... all IU needs to do to make a "special run" is shoot well. And monkeys are going to fly out of my ass!

This is great comedy... I guess I should be glad Mike is still on the bench... gives me something to laugh at.
