Hoop Heaven!
What a wonderful time to live in Speedway. 10 minutes from my house is the center of the Basketball Universe for the next 3 days. Unfortunately my ticket lottery success was nil and I'm without tickets for tomorrow and Monday. But never fear as I will make my way downtown many times this weekend... hoop city, concerts, vendors and scalpers... and if the price is right for a ticket for Monday night... I'll make my way into the Dome. Oh to see the little guy win an NCAA Championship.
Go George Mason!

Go gators!
I think we pay a high price for this whole college basketball deal.
and people wonder while the China and India gain us....
Nero fiddled while Rome burned.
from the Star...
On Thursday, The Star's Mark Alesia reported that public universities in the U.S. gave more than $1 billion in subsidies to their athletic departments last school year. The money came from student fees and schools' general funds as well as services.
College sports certainly add to the feel and flavor of college life, but why exactly should a sophomore education major at Ball State, already pressed to cover the cost of tuition and books, be forced to fork over another $412 a year to support the home teams?
