Indy Cars in Texas under the Lights

First off a big thank you to the IRL for moving the start back an hour and a half so more of the race was truly run under the lights.

Nice to see that Marco is just like Pop. Even after watching the video and having other drivers state that he was in the wrong, on a pre-race interview he totally blames Eddie and when asked if he is to blame even a little he claims "I don't even have to answer that question. No!"

At least Helio after watching the tape from practice realized he was wrong and apologized. Hey Marco, maybe you could learn something.

Thank you Vision Racing for putting Tomas in the Gray, White and Orange Rock and Republic paint scheme. Awesome looking car.

Hmmm... I wonder if Eddie caused Danica to drop all the way back to 18th at the start and Marco to drop from 9th to 16th in the first 10 laps. Danica gets a pass as this is her first race in a Dallara. Marco would have gotten a pass had he shown some humility... but since he knows everything, there is no excuse for falling to the back.

Nice of ESPN to finally notice Koskuke's move from 10th to 4th... after he had been up battling Helio for 5 laps.

What a brilliant decision by Penske to pit Sam right before they waved everyone around... those extra 8 laps of fuel could make a difference at the end. Sam had everyone but Wheldon lapped when the Yellow came out and Wheldon was in the pits. So when the Pace Car picked up Sam, Wheldon was at the end of the line in second place. When Sam pitted, that left Wheldon in the lead and Sam right behind him as the last 2 cars at the back of the pack. With Wheldon in first, the entire field was going to be waved around. With Sam at the back, he could pit and re-enter right behind Wheldon, then when everyone else was waved around, Sam would still be in 2nd place. The ESPN announcers are MORONs for not being able to understand it. IT WAS NOT A TIMING AND SCORING PROBLEM!!!! ARGH!!!

I like the Side by Side concept... but sadly ESPN is using it as an excuse to run Ads every 5 minutes of Ads for every 5 minutes of on track action... though the upside is I don't have to listen to Rusty... maybe we need more side by side... nah I hate having my 53" TV relegated to a 19".

I don't blame Wheldon for being Hot... he led 171 of the 179 green flag laps... yet the Chipster decides to put on new tires while all the other teams just take fuel. Ultimately that killed Dan's chances as his 214s down the stretch weren't enough to catch Helio.
