Colts on Fox...

As much as I rip on CBS for the fact that they Can't Broadcast Sports... I'm glad the AFC is on CBS... cause FOX football SUX!

The DLP Ultimate Picture cam is awful and should be retired. If I want to get motion sickness, there are a lot more enjoyable ways to get sick.

Where was the game being played today? As Fox went to and came back from breaks, I saw shots of mountains, deserts, flamingos, redwoods, parrots and the beach... always love those local shots to give us a taste of Indy.

In the first half Troy and Dave were stumbling over each other trying to highlight how overrated the Colts were, and how their defense can't stop the run, and how lucky they have been to get to 5-0, and how this could be the Redskins day for the win.

Then in the second half... beep, beep, beep... the backtracking began as the Colts scored and scored and scored and scored again.

"I think this Colts team got better on the offensive side of the ball by scoring some points" Wow Troy... that is some brilliant commentary.

And what was with Aikman complementing the NFL for putting in protective rules for the QB when Freeney's hand slid over Brunell's facemask... then when Peyton was nearly decapitated, not saying a thing... and when Washington took out Peyton's legs well after the play was over, commenting repeatedly about how that shouldn't be a penalty? What???

And I must say that I loved Stockton's comment while the Redskins were down 14-36... "The Redskins Schedule gets a lot tougher after this game" while showing a graphic that the Skins play 4-3 Philadelphia, 3-2 Dallas, 2-4 Tampa Bay and 4-3 Carolina in the next 5 weeks. Yeah that looks much tougher than playing at 6-0 Indy.

Sadly it appears that Fox News has worn off on Fox Sports.

At times the commentary was bizarre or was it just plain stupid?

I've lost my ability to distinguish between the two.

One of the clowns kept going on about "fitty cent", "fitty cent".

What was all that about?

It made me pine for Dan Dierdorf.

And yes, I'm looking forward to heading to those tall snow capped mountains we saw during the promo.

Which side of Bloomington is that mountain range on? Is it before or after the bypass?

I can't wait to hit the slopes this winter.

I especially liked how Troy relentlessly went after Hunter Smith for getting burned on Randle El's punt return. The 10 coverage guys can't stay in their lanes and take away the middle of the field, but it's Hunter's fault Randle El scored, b/c he can't make an open field tackle on a guy who makes ankle-breaking moves like that in his sleep? Give me a break. The Colts all but threw him a parade on that punt return.

The scary thing is that I think that's Fox's A-team broadcasters. And I'm shamed to say I was looking forward to getting away from CBS for a week. But that was terrible. Ugh.

Since all the other 4:00 games sucked & the game involved 2 franchises of evil (meaning something bad would be happening to one of them all the time), I actually watched some of the game.

First, I agree that Fox is terrible. They are better than CBS but that's not saying much. Consider yourselves lucky that the World Series is going on so that Joe Buck wasn't there. He's the most overrated & over-exposed announcer out there.

Usually I really like Troy Aikman. I thought his comments on Hunter Smith were completely off-point. As an outside observer, I didn't have a problem with the other commentary. That was a pretty obvious call on Freeney. I didn't see a problem with the hit on Manning. That happens all the time to other qb's. Because of the great offensive line & his ability to read defenses so well, Manning is rarely exposed to hits like that. As far as the Colts' vulnerabilities, they should be mentioned. First, they haven't played the world's toughest schedule & they haven't been as dominating as last year (see Tennessee game). But more importantly, this was Fox's premiere game of the week, so they had to make it sound like a 2-4 team had a chance against a 5-0 team. : )

You had to remind me about 'fitty cent'... that was just pathetic.

I actually liked Dan Dierdorf... but that could have been because of his performance on the sitcom Life Goes On, Corky's last stand... just kidding.

John, Hunter had no chance on that punt return... they should have been focusing on Antwaan's theatrics and it costing the team 15 yds, which became 30 before they ultimately kicked from their own 5.

DK, just admit it, you are a Colts fan through and through. Established in 1953 and continuing today ;-)

Joe Buck certainly isn't his father... kinda similar to Jeremy Schapp.
