2006 ACC/B10 Challenge

A few observations...

I'm glad Amaker brushed up on his fine coaching ability over the summer. Michigan kicked off the challenge on another sour note for the B10 with a 67-74 loss at North Carolina St.

ACC 1 - B10 0

It's too bad Eric Gordon totally ruined Illinois basketball. The Illini looked awful in a 66-72 loss at home to Maryland.

ACC 2 - B10 0

At least Wisconsin came through at home destroying Florida State 70 - 54 to get the B10 on the scoreboard. I love watching the disciplined style of the Badgers.

ACC 2 - B10 1

Penn State played a solid game at Georgia Tech, but came up a little short losing 73-77.

ACC 3 - B10 1

IU couldn't overcome playing shorthanded upfront without Lance Stemler who suffered a concussion in practice yesterday. After being down big at the half, IU went on a 12-2 run to start the half... amazing what coaching can do. IU had the ball down 3 with a chance to tie... but Bassett and Suhr couldn't get a good look in the last possession and Suhr's force at the buzzer came up short and IU lost 51-54 at Cameron Indoor. Bassett and Shaw are going to be really good along with Gordon next year. In the meantime, Suhr is going to carry this team with his attitude this year.

ACC 4 - B10 1

Northwestern led the whole way against Miami and nearly blew it, but in the end, they pulled out a close 61-59 victory

ACC 4 - B10 2

And another 5 games are played tomorrow night.
