IPFW vs ISU

I was able to attend my first IPFW game earlier today against the same ISU team IU beat on Friday night.

First off I have to comment on the renovated Memorial Coliseum. Very Nice! If you had never been to the old Coliseum, you wouldn't even know that they raised the roof and added suites and an upper deck to each side.

On to IPFW... the basketball was enjoyable to watch. Coach Fife has his team playing hard scrappy man to man helpside defense along with a triangle motion that utilizes 2 good outside shooters. Right now, his big men are a bit outclassed and ultimately that cost them the game against ISU.

While the basketball was enjoyable, the other activities were quite sad. The fight song is beyond hokey, the cheerleaders tried, but failed more than they suceeded and then the band left right after half time. And what is with Homecoming for a basketball game?

But all in all, it was an enjoyable 2 hours for a $9.50 ticket.
