A big congratulations to Coach Lickliter and the Butler Bulldogs. That was a hard fought game that came right down to the wire and Butler made their shots. Though I still am waiting to hear 'bank' on that last heave by Graves. Butler is a TEAM made up of Juniors and Seniors that know Lickliter's system well and played it well tonight. Their guards got to the foul line down the stretch, played solid help defense and made big shots. They earned that win.
Butler 60 - IU 55
I loved the effort on defense by the Hoosiers. It wasn't good defense as this team is still learning how to play help side defense and fronting... all new concepts to these players. I hate the ticky tack fouls that for some reason the officials in 2 games this year believe they must call. It absolutely kills the flow of the game for both teams. Unfortunately with White, Calloway and Ratliff on the bench with 4 fouls, the rest of the team got tenative with 9 minutes left. The good thing, is that this game will be a tremendous learning tool for Coach Sampson. The bad is that the players miss out on a nice trip to the big apple.
I have a feeling Thanksgiving will be a very educational experience for the IU players. And this loss tonight will end up paying off come B10 season.

Agreed. Better to have this type of lackluster performance now rather than in Big 10 play.
However, I did see one thing that concerned me greatly. In both games IU got completely out hussled. That has to be addressed as well.
