IU - Iowa Post Game

Last night I thoroughly enjoyed another IU home court domination... DJ White was huge with 23 points and 12 rebounds as Iowa didn't have an answer for him. Calloway had a nice night with 8 assists and Wilmont followed up his big game with 15 and 5. IU was up 21 in the second half and Sampson cleared the bench late giving some guys some real action in which they didn't perform well leading to the 7 point win. The game was never in question and I'm sure Sampson got a lot of good tape to view and work on this week.

IU 71 - Iowa 64
IU 13-4, 4-1 in the B10

Anyone out there still think Sampson isn't the right coach for IU?

Note to Students... Your chant isn't funny and it's pretty sad when IU hits their first 3 pointer 4 minutes in and a cheerleader throws a shirt up into the student section where it falls to the floor among 5 rows of completely empty seats.

"Stand Up Old People" Directed towards to the alumni at the opposite end when Iowa was shooting free throws. They started it during the Purdue game. Of course there were only about 100 students there when they did the chant. Nothing like disrespecting your own alumni.

My Senior Year '91 I got 4 games... Northwestern (16th row balcony), Wisconsin (8th row balcony), Iowa (7th row end) and Minnesota (45th row main level)... not that I'm bitter or anything ;-)

I'm embarrassed to be an alumni if that's how they're acting these days.

Personally, I think the chant is funny. According to my mom, who sits in those seats, most people down there think it's funny. There are far worse chants out there. If you're offended, then I think you've officially become an "old person." Chill out! : )

I don't like the fact that the alums get those seats anyway. It takes away from the atmosphere.

That said, the students need to realize that they're late arrival is an embarrassment to themselves and to IU as a whole. I see they're complaining in the paper about losing those seats. Well prove that you deserve those seats by showing up EARLY!!! Create an intimidating atmosphere before tipoff. Once you do that, then we can start talking about better seats.
