IU - Wisconsin Postgame

Some observations while watching from my couch...

This is fun basketball to watch, an absolute chess match from both coaches.

Somebody pull the plug on the mic on the rim.

When did first year College players become Rookies? They are called FRESHMAN!!!

Please tell me Tom didn't say that DJ "Learned a ton from Marco Killingsworth while sitting out last year"? Are you kidding me?

Shaw showed signs of being an absolute STUD on both the offensive end and the defensive end in the first half. This kid could be an all-american by the time he is done at IU.

Enough with the rim mic already!

I can handle poor officiating, but what really drives me nuts are guys that are out of position making calls that they couldn't possibly have seen.

Tom, you had to bring up Marco again? Tom actually said that DJ learned "a lot" from Killingsworth's defense. Now that is comical... Ole!

I love Sampson... the game plan, the enthusiasm, the on the fly changes... OUTSTANDING!

Why is it that Channel 4 out of Indianapolis has the Wisconsin feed? Every commercial begins with a local Wisconsin ad only to be switched to an Indiana commercial 1 second in. STRANGE!

Heck of an 11-0 run only to have the officials swallow their whistles on a slaughter of DJ that turned a 10 pt lead into a 6 pt lead. Then another swallow on an obvious Wiscy charge and the lead was 4.

What I said about Shaw in the first half I will say about Bassett in the 2nd half. The future is bright in Bloomington.

Bo is a heck of a coach, but come on already with the bitching and moaning over the calls. Bo, you're team got the benefit of the doubt on every call in Bloomington.

Ratliff was HUGE down the stretch.

Explain to me again why this was not on ESPN HD? It was only the premier game in the B10. I hope they liked the 50 pt UNC blowout or the 18 pt Purdue loss on the Deuce.

IU 71 - Wisconsin 66

And I hate students storming the floor... ESPN has ruined college Basketball.

Complain all you want about Wisconsin ads when I couldn't even watch the game down here in Texas. I went out to watch a movie to take my mind off the game only to come home to terrific news.

I hate students storming the floor as well. I guess we should be glad some of them showed up for the game.

Excellent point on the connection between the students storming the court and ESPN. I want IU basketball back to the point where there's no reason to storm the court because we expect to win. I'm confident Sampson will get us there.

Steve,

Ditto on the rim mic.

Also, last year I remember reading an article either on espn.com or si.com by a guy who laid out the "rules" for when a home crowd was allowed to rush the court after a win. It was pretty funny and right on point. I'll see if I can find it. In any case, I don't think the Wisconsin game qualified as a "rushable" win.

Nice to hear the crowd chanting Sampson's name, too. Another sign of a turnaround.

Steve:

I believe you said, "This is fun basketball to watch..." Do you not think that being there would have been better. Assembly Hall ROCKED! The last time was during the Knight Era. GET YOUR SEASON TICKETS NEXT YEAR!

I agree with you about the officiating. I have been saying all along and agree with your statement "...guys that are out of position making calls that they couldn't possibly have seen." When will this change. NEVER!

Steve, maybe ESPNU would have carried the game.

GO HOOSIERS, BEAT THE HAWKEYES!
