The Pacers opened up their 2004 Playoff run with an opening round matchup with the Boston Celtics. A perfect matchup as I doubt the Pacers will take Boston lightly after the Celtics knocked the Pacers out of the first round last year. And sure enough, the Pacers were ready for Game 1. After a close 1st period, where the Pacers ended up with a 30-29 lead, Al and Jermaine relentlessly drove the ball to the basket and Boston had no answer. A 30-8 run in the second quarter all but sealed the deal before halftime. Boston even resorted to thuggery to try to slow down O'Neal. They put reserve center Brandon Hunter in and his first play resulted in him grabbing Jermaine and intentionally throwing him to the ground. O'Neal got a T, but it fired up the team and the crowd... and game 1 was over.

Now the big question is... Can the Pacers keep their intensity after a blow out, or will they let up and give Boston a chance to even the series at 1 apiece Tuesday night?
