IU BBall - Indiana State

Whew... it wasn't pretty, but IU closed the game with a 5-1 spurt to get a 4pt win.

Indiana 56 - Indiana State 52

I have been very hard on Bracey Wright and his selfish play over the last 2 years. Tonight I will give him credit. That was probably the best game he has played as a Hoosier. Defensively he got burnt twice in the first minute of the game by Moss for 5 points, but then he tightened up and played very good defense the rest of the way holding Moss to 15 points on 19 shots. For the first time in his career he didn't get a rebound... and that is perfectly fine because he was stalking Moss all over the court instead of ignoring his man and trying to get rebounds. This was a good thing.

On the offensive end Bracey was 8 for 13, 3 for 7 from 3 point range, 0 assists and 1 turnover for 20 points. Only 2 of the 3-point shots were ill-advised. The rest of the shots came on well run plays. And on 2 plays, he had passes that set up others for the assist and the bucket... in Hockey he would have had 2 assists for those plays.

The rest of the offense stunk up the place. It's a good thing Bracey had a great game, or else this would have been an L.

Outside of Bracey, I didn't get a lot of answers to my questions. Guess I will have to go watch the Western Illinois game on Saturday to see if this team has a chance against a very good UNC game next week.
