The Positives:

IU didn't embarrass themselves on a National ESPN game with Vitale in the Hall. In fact, I hear that Dickie V. was having his typical love fest with Bracey and Mike.

The crowd was loud and supportive of the team.

IU went into DJ White the first time down the floor. Almost as if they had a plan to go inside early and get Sean May in foul trouble.

The Defense played well... though May being in foul trouble helped hide IU's interior deficiencies.

DJ White and Robert Vaden showed their abilities... their future as Hoosiers is Bright.

The Negatives:

The Sean May taunts from the Student section were uncalled for. It's not like Sean came to IU, then transferred like Recker did.

The IU Administration and their bizarre decisions on students bringing signs to the game. In the past few years they wouldn't let any signs in... someone might question Davis or Brand. At last night's game they not only let signs in, they let the students hang sheets over the balcony. One read "Everybody Hates Raymond!"

The offense stood around and relied on Marshall and Bracey to play one on one.

After going to DJ White on the first play, the rest of the game featured Marshall and Bracey repeatedly failing to feed the post after DJ White fought for good position.

The offense was again impatient and took the first open shot that presented itself. 32 times they took 3 point shots. That is unacceptable in any offense.

8-15 from the Free Throw line... Unacceptable!

Bottom Line IU played pretty well, UNC played poorly and it was a much closer game than anyone thought. Up next UCONN in Hartford... at least it isn't in Storres.
