IU BBall - Minnesota

Well that is more like what we have come to expect from a Mike Davis led IU Team. 2 pts in 11 minutes to start the second half.

After a solid first half that saw IU go inside regularly to White and Ewing, IU started the 2nd half playing a perimeter game trying to get Bracey his shots. Wrong strategy there Davis. Bracey couldn't hit the broad side of a barn... in the barn. IU found itself down 17 with 8 minutes to go.

The encouraging thing was the play of Vaden, White and Ratliff. Those 3 didn't give up and between Ratliff's traps, Vaden's back to back 3s and White's absolute dominance inside, IU was within 4 with 40 seconds left and had the ball. Unfortunately Mike felt it was important to get Bracey his shots instead of White the ball inside, so after a Bracey missed 3, an IU steal and another Bracey missed 3, Minny made 2 free throws to end the comeback.

Minnesota 70 - IU 65

White had a career high 23 points and could have had 30+ had IU gone to him in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

Vaden had 13 pts on 5-8 shooting including 2-4 from 3 point range.

Bracey had 19 pts on 6-21 shooting including 0-10 from 3 point range.

The team was 2-19 from the 3 point range... they had no business shooting more than 10 in this game.

Off to Iowa on Saturday.
