That was a nice win for the Hoosiers. DJ White proved in the first half that he will be a major force for other teams to deal with. When cramps hit DJ in the second half and OSU made their run, IU needed a leader and Bracey stepped up and took over scoring 12 straight points. Down the stretch Bracey not only scored, but had 2 outstanding passes inside for easy buckets when OSU overplayed him at the 3 point line. And IU made their free throws down the stretch... sinking 10 straight to close out the game with Pat Ewing going 4 for 4.
IU 67 - OSU 60
IU is definitely playing better. They have taken advantage of an easy start to the B10 schedule. The next 2 games will help define whether this team has turned the corner, or this season will tumble back to mediocrity. At Minnesota and At Iowa. One year ago IU started strong in the B10 only to fall apart at Minnesota and watch their season slip away. I hope that doesn't happen again this year.
And Kudos to the students this game. Instead of booing IU Players, the students got all over Fuss-Cheatham when he shot an airball early in the game. Everytime he touched the ball... "AIRBALL, AIRBALL!" Even at halftime when he came out for warmup... "AIRBALL, AIRBALL!" Talk about taking him out of his game. After missing that 3 early, he didn't even attempt a shot until inside a minute left when he missed another long 3. 0-2 and 0 points. That was a big home court advantage!
