Reggie denied it after the game stating:
"That's absolutely false," Miller said upon dressing while looking at Sager, who was kneeled in front of him. "Once again, Craig Sager, inaccurate reporting.
"If and when I was to say something like that, there's two people I would talk to first from TNT. Sir Charles (Barkley) and (his sister) Cheryl Miller. They would have the two exclusives. For you to report something like that is very inaccurate, Craig. I'm very disappointed."
So what does WISH-TV do here in Indy? Their top story at 11pm was breaking news on Reggie's retirement announcement. Interviews you will only hear here on WISH-TV. They lead with Sager's report, then Reggie's denial, but say "While Reggie denies the report, stay tuned for sports to hear a conflicting report from his Pacer teammates."So I stick with WISH-TV to see what exclusive interviews they were able to get with Reggie's teammates. What did they have? They had Jermaine stating that over the summer, Reggie was thinking about retiring after this season. And then they had Jamal stating that he had a phone conversation with Reggie over the summer where Reggie talked about retiring after the year. WHAT???? How does that conflict with Reggie's denial about Sager's report? It has nothing to do with it. What a load of crap. Then on top of it, they interview Carlisle and he states that Reggie hasn't talked to him about retiring.
Sounds to me like Sager and TNT made up a story to try to get on Sportcenter. And WISH TV fell for it hook, line and sinker.
And what kind of headline is this at the star?
Another spinout: Indy loses .500 - Indy Star
That's not even funny!
