You just have to love Pistons' fans. 4 bomb threats prior to and during the Pacers/Pistons game on Friday night.
David Stern sure has power. He can destroy the Pacers' season through suspensions, do absolutely nothing to the Pistons' organization, and when the players' lives are threatened, he made them go ahead and play in that life threatening situation. Sure the odds are slim that the threat was real, but what if it had been?
And now a day later, the NBA still has issued no statements about any ramifications for the Detroit organization. If it were me, I would have made a pretty strong statement and forced the Pistons to play Friday night's game without any fans in attendance. The revenue loss would have sent a message to the Detroit organization to get serious about security. And it would have sent a message to the fans that bad behavior would not be tolerated.
Based on some quotes from Reggie, I'm not too far off base.
"It's unfortunate, because nothing's ever happened to the Pistons or the Palace," Miller said. "It's almost like it's always our fault. The league knows it, and the league ought to be ashamed of themselves for security to be as lax as it is around here.
"We're always going to get the brunt of it, especially this year. (NBA commissioner) David Stern has to look in the mirror every morning when he wakes up (and face) the way he penalized us and the way he penalized the Pistons."
I wonder how the NBA will deal with the Pacers playing the Pistons in the first round of the playoffs? Right now that is looking like a definite possibility.

Who is this Daniel Stern you talked about?
Oops... David Stern... that's what I get for watching Breaking Away on a rainy weekend!
