Just a few comments after watching Saturday's games...
HDTV ROCKS!!!! The clarity is outstanding, but the widescreen is beautiful for basketball. Illinois spreads the court so well, that they use the entire half court. Widescreen allows for the entire court to be in view. Nice!!!
Illinois is an incredible team. Unselfish, team basketball. They make the extra pass and in turn get such wide open shots. It's a beautiful thing to watch.
Sean May is a STUD!!! It's like his hands have magnets... they attract the ball when rebounds are available. Oh Miles Brand... you deprived us and coach Knight from 2 final four runs. Not that I am bitter or anything.
And the officiating is flat out AWFUL. Fortunately neither game's outcome was determined by the pathetic efforts of Jim Burr or Ed Hightower. These guys need to retire. They can't get up and down the court quick enough and in turn are WAY out of position. What does that lead to? Anticipation call and then make up calls. I see enough of that crap in the NBA... we don't need it in the NCAA.
Monday night will be interesting. Usually there is one team I don't want to win. But in this case, I don't mind either team winning. How about a 5 OT game... that would be cool.
