Opening Night - MLB 2005

Baseball has sold out. It's opening day... not "made for TV" opening night. Does anyone really think a meaningless Big Unit vs Fat Pitcher game excites us? It's not like it is a rematch from October. 1 regular season game can never equal a playoff season. Unless you are Mike Davis, who made a big deal about beating Maryland in the ACC/B10 challenge as a revenge game for losing to the terps in the 2002 NCAA Championship game.

Neither Boston or New York should be playing a night home game in early April. What is the weather going to be? 35 degrees and a cold rain. What a great environment for fans... not. The schedule makers should have all the cold weather city teams in the south and west the first week of the season.

The real opening day is tomorrow.
