Danica and Bernie

Who would have thought that Bernie Ecclestone would play right into Danica Mania.

First he makes a bizarre statement last weekend at Indy about women being dressed in white just like all domestic appliances when commenting on Danica's performance at Indy.

Monday, the statement gets Danica's mug and the IRL mentioned on CNN, ESPN, FoxSports and in the USA Today.

That statement also wins ESPN Radio's Mike and Mike's Just Shut Up award hands down on Tuesday.

Then on Wednesday Bernie calls Danica and tells her over the phone the exact same thing. Huh??? If that is some British compliment, we here in the states don't get it.

That second phone call gets more airtime on CNN and ESPN and has Mike and Mike talking about Danica and Bernie on Friday. Amazingly, they both used it to also mention that Richmond is where Danica and the IRL will be racing on Saturday night.

Last night on Sportscenter, ESPN showed an interview with Danica on Friday talking about Bernie's comments from Richmond and then promoted the race on Saturday night.

Thanks for the Pub Bernie... now we'll see how you handle your Michelin teams on Tuesday. I think a one race suspension for all teams would be perfect. Don't let Michelin run at the French Grand Prix. Now that would be fitting!
