F1 Farce!

I'm done! I'm too pissed to even rant.

I really feel sorry for the fans that came from all over the world, spending thousands of dollars to witness 6 cars on parade.

This interview sums it all up pretty well. *** Warning bad language!***

Paul Stoddart - Minardi team principal

"This is F'ing Crazy... the FIA needs to get a grip with itself and sort this sport out before there is no F'ing sport to sort out. This today is Bull $hit!"

Personally I put the fault directly on Michelin... leave it to a French company to come to battle without an alternative battle plan.

The BBC reports one Michelin official saying, "We had no other choice. We had to put the safety of the drivers first." That makes it sound like Michelin did a really noble thing. But sooner or later Michelin will have to own up to the fact that they were inept. They have no excuse for not coming with the right tires.

What I want to know is, why did the drivers agree not to drive? Are they paid to be on the team, irrespective of the race results? It sure looks like the 14 drivers who dropped out were not very hungry. They didn't even want to run at slower speeds or take their chances? Spins and crashes are a part of racing, and to say, "We might crash so we aren't going to race" just makes no sense.

Steve, is this going to hurt the Speedway? I see one disappointed fan has already filed a suit against the Speedway (along with the FIA and Michelin).

David Hobbs on the SPEED Broadcast didn't mince words during a commercial. He referred to 2 drivers as leading the boycott and the term he used wasn't very nice.

Trulli actually said that the Fans should agree with the decision not to run. "The fans don't want to see race car drivers take risks."

Are you kidding me? That is an insult to every driver that ever put on a helmet and went around the Speedway.

You bet this will hurt the speedway. But most of all it will hurt Indianapolis. Latest estimates were that this race brought the city $150 million a year. And the city didn't have to do a thing to get that. Tony spent the money to bring F1 here and now he is the one taking the flak for Michelin's incompetence.

Sad!
