Follow up to my sadness...

Good news... The columnist was wrong. I feel so much better now.

Good newsReply

Coach Davis seemed to be in a much better mood following practice today, so there's a good chance his mood Friday was a bit of an anaomoly.

I wanted to mention something here for those of you who spent the day analyzing my column over its worth on the site or agreeing or disagreeing with me. I was accused of shoddy journalism or pandering to Coach Davis, but I believe neither to be the case. I took a one-night first impression and used it to point out the kind of pressure he is under. I'm not alone in wondering about his state of mind considering what kind of heat he has faced the past couple of years, so I used my column to talk about what the different pressures can do to a person.

Some of you didn't like my column or opinion, and that's fine. Trust me. It won't be the last time that happens. But know that everything I write comes with the best interests of my readers at heart. I write columns that express my opinion and also open things for discussion. That's the best thing about the Internet. It gives people a chance to discuss things, whether it be rational or otherwise. I will never write something just to get a response, but I won't shy away from my opinion.

Some of you won't always like what I write, but that's just fine. Disagreeing over sports is the reason we watch. Thanks for the time.
