Tiller Nervous about IU Recruiting???

Interesting article. Did that caller strike a nerve? Must've hit a little too close to home to get Tiller fired up enough to start talking about a recruit. Or as he put it "Go on the offensive."

"I might as well get it out there publicly right now,'' said Tiller, whose team has lost four consecutive games heading into Saturday's contest at Wisconsin. "That player that de-committed here and committed to IU was suspended by his (high) school team for skipping practices and not liking the fact that he was being double-teamed."
Hmmm... now I understand he didn't mention his name, but when the caller asked about him by name and Tiller responds with the above, that sure sounds like commenting about a recruit. The NCAA has a rule out there stating that a coach can't comment about a specific recruit. I'll be curious to see if the NCAA looks into this.
"It is only permissible for coaches to confirm they are recruiting a player,'' said NCAA spokesman Erik Christianson, speaking of the organization's rules and not Tiller's comments specifically. "They cannot indicate the likelihood of the individual signing with that institution.''
I love Middleton's Dad's comments...
"If the disciplinary issue was in fact an issue,'' Middleton Sr. said, "I don't know why coach Hagen kept Greg on the phone for more than an hour trying to keep him a Boiler.''
