IU BBall's Newest Player!

Mike Davis Jr.

Personally I have no problem with this. He is walking on the team and if he has the ability to play at a D1 level, he should play. My question though is why the Coach is making the comments he is making...

In an interview on WISH TV tonight... the teaser for sports had Mike Davis saying the following "Trust me its not like you have to worry about me putting him in."

Then the actual interview had the following:

"This is the first year that I have felt like okay he could be here. And he is just here with me. Uh he's on the basketball team because it's my basketball team, uh, but would he start? No. Would he play 30 minutes? No. 20 minutes? No. He could beat his dad. And I'm only addressing this with you because, uh, you know my family and so by him just being on the team, really it shouldn't even be talked about, you know its not like you are talking about a walk on, you are talking about a walk on, you're not talking about somebody you gave a scholarship to, you are talking about a walk on that will be in practice and working hard in practice. And he is also my ears in the locker room. Nah just kidding."

Nice joke coach. Sad thing is that by saying it, you just put that idea in the player's ears. Too Bad for Mike Jr.

6 Years ago I would have been pretty darn excited about the start of College BBall practice tomorrow. Too bad my interest in the FAKE "Hoosier Hysteria" in BTown at 9pm tomorrow night is NIL! I'll give IU credit for not calling a 9pm dunk contest "Midnight Madness" but "Hoosier Hysteria?" Come On!!! I guess that shows just how much the IHSAA ruined HS Basketball with that "class" crap. The old single class HS Tourney in March was the REAL "Hoosier Hysteria!" Now "Hoosier Hysteria" has been denegrated down to a dunk contest.

steve,

i'm afraid I need to be a word nerd here.

quoting "The old single class HS Tourney in March ..."

In order for a class to exist there must be more than one other class. There is no such thing as a "single class" . Just as your English teacher probably reminded you that you cannot have an outline with a "I." that is not followed with a "II".

The whole idea of a class is that it has other classes which it can be compared or contrasted against.

Thus you should refer to it as "no-class" or "unified league" basketball.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have some Zapruder footage to download and examine.

regards

JCK... My HS teachers would be disappointed in me. I fell into the trap of laziness that has doomed journalism today by simply reusing terminology from those so-called "Journalists"

Thanks for correcting me.
