Time for some Tweaking!

Some interesting quotes.

Davis: IU needs just some tweaking - courier-journal.com
"If I'm going to shake up something, I'm not going to shake it up because we lost a road game," Davis said. "… We're 4-3, but we're in second place. If I was in last place then I would shake, but we're not in last place so there's no need to shake up anything."
I think while they were editing out all the ums, they took out an up. But it did make the quote funny. I'm thinking Davis really would be shaking if IU was in last place.
"Teams have made adjustments to us; we've got to make the adjustment now to counter," Davis said. "That may take me moving Marshall Strickland, a guy who can really shoot the ball, back to the point guard position."
Really? I wonder if Davis got that from the video tape, or from his coaches? And what took so long to notice it? If I could see it 1 minute into the Iowa game, you would think a coach making $900K could see it and make adjustments right away. But then again we are talking about Mike... Mr. I've never made an ingame adjustment in my coaching career Davis.

Now on a serious note, I wonder what that adjustment will be. Teams are playing off Monroe and Calloway to double team Killer. So if Davis replaces Monroe/Calloway with Strickland, who replaces Strickland? Does he stick with 4-1 lineup? Or does he put Kline in with Marco. On his Radio show last night he said he was going with Kline. If that is the case, what a bad time to try that. NW plays a lot of zone. How is Kline going to help break a zone? Or will Marco play outside and be the zone breaker from 25 ft. And on the Defensive end, are Kline and Marco going to chase NW's cutting offense? This could be an absolute disaster

I'll be watching tomorrow night to see what changes are made.

What's with the I and We stuff?

If I was in last place then I would shake, but we're not in last place so there's no need to shake up anything.

I wish he would do some more shaking. He's so consumed with his job security his missing the obvious.

Hey Mike, how about taking the ball out of Marco's hands and let the guards make some decisions? Killer is killing you with his total lack of court vision and passing.

Vaden is his smartest player, why not let him run the point? Geezus, I had no idea IU had a point guard. Isn't it simply one guy, the point guard, bringing the ball up, tossing it to a wing player who throws the ball into Marco?

I'm ranting again. Why do I fear that a Mike Davis shake up actually means IU losing at home to Northwestern?

Rant away my friend! I've found it the only way to get through the basketball season under Davis.

Take Monroe out and put in Wilmont. Starting lineup would be Strick, Wilmont, Ratliff, Vaden, and Killer. That's what should happen against NW. But probably won't.

Mr. Kyle, are you okay?

You just mentioned Mike Davis and Albert Einstein in the same paragraph.

The equation is very appropriate.
