I thought we did a great job first part of game. Um played hard, went up 9 points, guys were really really really playing the way I want us to play and um but its tough to sustain that level of play when when they got it going making shots, and pushing the ball up the court, offensive rebounds.8 games huh? That Mike got right. The 2nd place though? There is a reason we forget about second place... we aren't in second place Mike.
Well, we in second place. You know we in second place and um gotta chance to to win the conference if we just take care of home and win some road games and um (laugh) I think sometimes people forget we in second place. You know, I just, I just want our guys to stay focused. We have 8 games left. 8 games. I'm counting them down. 8. You know and um I feel like um we can do something special.

Just a follow up. The above exact quote came from the post game press conference. I've always wondered where the quotes that are in the paper come from, because they are always similar to what I hear at the press conference, but never the same. After seeing the quote below in multiple articles today, it hit me just how much the papers edit Mike's quotes.
"That is a great basketball team, the best I've seen," Indiana coach Mike Davis said. "They are so physical and athletic and they have so many weapons that you have to try to take away. ... We played the way I wanted us to play but it is tough to sustain that level of play when they are making shots, pushing the ball up the court and grabbing offensive rebounds."
