New Facilities in Bloomington

I'm glad to see IU is finally going to add a new practice facility for Basketball. I just hope they are planning ahead and leaving the space to the north of Assembly Hall for a replacement arena. This article doesn't give me that impression.

Staying competitive - Indystar.com
"I believe our university will always need to perform with a little chip on its shoulder. The sheer economics say we're never going to be the biggest budget in this conference. I'm OK with that and I think our people are OK with that as long as we have a fighting chance to win. Facilities are a big part of that.''
Well that statement answers my question. I've wondered if the IU administration realized that when they ignore their 30 year old alumni while focusing on their 60+ year old alumni, they miss out on a heck of a lot of future donations. Looks like they not only understand it, but are okay with it. Can't wait for them to give me a call asking for my money. They are going to get an earful. Not that I am bitter or anything.

Steve, your post implies that you consider yourself a "30 year old alumnus."

Is there any denial going on here?

IU's administration really started pissing me off when I was a 30 year old alumnus. The day they fired Coach Knight and sent a letter to their big donors explaining themselves, while totally ignoring the donors that will become the big donors of the future.

Sadly for them, this donor will never give them another dime. And it didn't have to be that way. Right Mr. Dolson?
