Bob Knight passed Dean Smith today to become the all-time wins leader in Men's Division 1 Basketball.
Texas Tech 70 - New Mexico 68
Sadly this record should have happened last year in Bloomington and Knight would be celebrating 900 right now... Thanks Myles. At least IU added 1 page of Knight's achievements to the Media Guide this year. Maybe next year they can add Coach Knight to the IU Athletics Hall of Fame. And the new stadium better be named after Coach Knight.
The big question is how many more will Coach Knight win? 1000, 1100? I just don't see him growing old hunting and fishing. I see him growing old on the sideline... just like Joe Pa.
Now the pressure is off the Tech team and they can focus on playing well during the B12 season.

Interestingly IU President Adam Herbert released a very nice PR piece 30 minutes after the end of the game.

I personally think IU missed a great opportunity by not sending Chris Reynolds, a former player and current member of the IU athletic administration to Lubbock as an olive branch.
Congrats to Coach Knight. I tend to agree with you, I see him coaching for a very long time.
Hey Steve,
I watched that game live on TV and I was glad that 30-footer at the buzzer clanged off the back of the rim.
Anyway, I created a new blog entitled "Coast to Coast with Matt Barker | An NCAA Basketball Blog,"
currently residing at http://ncaa-coast-to-coast.blogspot.com, in which have included a link to
you web site and I was wondering if you could reciprocate?
Thanks and Happy New Year,
Matt Barker
PS- I also have an Ohio State blog called "Buckeye Banter" @ http://buckeyebanter.com.
Thanks for sending Coach Knight our way. We appreciate him down here in Lubbock.
Guns Up!
